Our Staff

Denis Tallini, MS
General Manager:  Denis earned his Master of Science degree in Exercise Science/Cardiac Rehab/Health Education from Louisiana State University in 1981. He then developed, coordinated and served in all phases of Cardiac Rehab at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette, LA. After 15 years in the clinical field he assumed leadership of the hospital’s Health Promotion (Wellness) Center and successfully guided its operation for 8 years. Denis has served on several committees with the Medical Fitness Association and was awarded the associations Don Schneider Distinguished Service Award in 2003. After a successful road racing and ultra-marathon running career, Denis has turned his interests to track and field and has been a nationally-ranked master’s javelin thrower for several years. He also has 30 years of experience as a high school wrestling official.

Michele Barber, BS, C.P.T.
Master Trainer:  Michele earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Applied Social Science from The University of New York, Binghamton. She has 20 years of experience in the fitness industry. She is a certified fitness instructor and personal trainer holding certifications from the American Council of Exercise and The Cooper Institute for Aerobics Research. She is also certified as a Zumba® instructor and group exercise instructor (land, water and Pilates). She has participated in several triathlons, biathlons, and completed a half-marathon.

Carla Clayton, BA
Member Services/Marketing Director:  Carla earned her BA in Liberal Studies from California State University, San Bernardino. She was a professional educator in the public school system for 15 years while also developing a successful team of marketers for wellness products. Carla is responsible for the development and implementation of programs to attract and retain members and for all marketing activities of the Center. Carla is an active Rotarian and an Ambassador for the Thomaston Upson Chamber of Commerce.

Cassie Walker, BSBA
Billing Coordinator Cassie earned her Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Mercer University in 1998 and is responsible for managing all accounting duties and member financial issues for the Center. Cassie is a member of the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers and was a staff accountant at URMC for 4 years prior to joining the Wellness Center in 2006.

Tommy Glisson, BS, C.P.T.
Exercise Specialist/Personal Trainer (ACE) Tommy received his bachelor’s degree in Recreation from the College of Health and Sciences at Georgia Southern University. He is an ACE Certified personal trainer and holds a professional membership with American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (AAHPERD). As an Exercise Specialist, Tommy performs fitness assessments, designs exercise programs for clients, and provides fitness floor supervision. Tommy is prepared to design training programs for all levels and needs.

Amanda “Mandi” Hadley, BS
Exercise Specialist/Group Exercise Leader (water) Mandi earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science from Columbus State University in 2000. In her role as an Exercise Specialist Mandi performs fitness assessments and designs exercise programs for clients. She also has 11 years of water exercise experience and teaches several water fitness classes as well as H20 Babies. Mandi earned her Water Instructor Certification through SS & Company Water Fitness and she is now a certifying Instructor through the same company.

Kendra King, BS
Exercise Specialist
Kendra earned her BS degree in Exercise Physiology from Valdosta State University. She served her summer internship at the Wellness Center of URMC and is working towards her personal training certification through the American College of Sports Medicine. In her role as Exercise Specialist, Kendra performs fitness assessments and designs exercise programs for clients. As an intern, Kendra aided in designing and teaching an Osteoporosis Prevention Program, an exercise based program called called “Strong Bones.”

Lyndel Allen, AS
Exercise Specialist, Group Exercise Leader
Lyndel has a diverse background and education in the fitness industry. She taught physical education in the private school setting. She owned and operated her own Curves. as well. Lyndel teaches “Ease into Exercise” and “Body Sculpting” classes. As an Exercise Specialist, she is available to assist all members with their fitness programs while monitoring the fitness floor.

Kelli Kaczmarek
Group Exercise Leader (Line Dance, Body Sculpt, Zumba®) Kelli has an extensive dance background and taught for three years at Arts In Motion Dance School. Kelli also earned her associates degree in Child & Family Development and is a therapeutic riding instructor. She is an AFAA (Aerobics and Fitness Association of America) group exercise instructor as well as a certified Zumba® instructor.

Pam Peek
Group Exercise Leader (Kickboxing) Pam has been involved in the fitness industry for over 20 years. She has experience teaching step aerobics, body sculpting, as well as kickboxing. Pam is currently teaching an early morning kickboxing and body sculpting class.

Kristina Perry, LMT
Massage Therapist Kristina completed her education and training at Bryman College in San Bernardino, CA in 2004. She has been practicing massage therapy for more than 5 years and specializes in many styles including deep tissue, hot stone, Swedish, neuromuscular, sports, pregnancy, cranial sacral and reflexology.

Patty Roethel
Group Exercise Leader (step, body sculpt, Zumba®) Having a passion for group exercise classes, Patty has grown from a devoted class participant to a certified, AFAA (Aerobics and Fitness Association of America) group exercise leader as well as a certified Zumba® Basics I instructor. Come join Patty as she leads Zumba® and our Sweat Shop Step, body sculpting and abs classes.

Sheryl Webb
Group Exercise Leader(Water Aerobics and Zumba®) As a Fitness Attendant, Sheryl performs fitness assessments, teaches the proper use of equipment and provides fitness floor supervision. Sheryl holds a Water Fitness Instructor Certification through SS & Company Water Fitness and her Basics 1 Zumba® certification. She currently teaches water aerobics and Zumba® classes.

Jennifer Campbell
Group Exercise Leader (Zumba® and water) Jennifer earned her Water Fitness Instructor Certification through SS & Company Water Fitness and her Basics 1 Zumba® certification. She currently teaches water aerobics and Zumba® classes.
